Lab Analyst
Job Description:
About Outsentia
Outsentia is a global talent and operations partner helping companies build high-performing offshore teams in regions like Pakistan. From sales and customer success to engineering and research support, we help our clients find top talent and scale quickly, without compromising quality. Our mission is to bridge exceptional global talent with fast-growing companies that need flexible, reliable, and cost-effective support.
We are currently hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a U.S.-based research platform that leverages expert insights to produce institutional-grade research for financial services firms around the world.
Lab Analyst
Location: Islamabad, Pakistan (6 PM to 3 AM) (3 days onsite)
Reports To: Founder (reporting line still evolving as the Lab team is built out)
Client: U.S.-based Research Platform
Role Overview
The Lab Analyst is a newly created role on our client's growing "Lab" team, sitting at the intersection of technical sales and hands-on AI/data work. This is not a traditional engineering or support role — it's closer to a solutions architect or sales engineer, but focused on innovating for individual customers rather than building scalable, product-wide features.
We're looking for someone genuinely interested in markets and investing, with a computer science or data science background, who is highly proficient working inside Claude (or similar LLMs) day-to-day. This person will spend 75%+ of their time working directly within Claude and other LLM tools — exploring the company's data, prototyping ideas, and turning them into tailored solutions and demonstrations for clients in financial services.
The team and role are still evolving, so the ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys building things hands-on with AI tools rather than writing everything from scratch, and can speak credibly to both technical and client-facing audiences.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with clients to understand their research and data needs, and translate those needs into tailored, AI-driven solutions
- Spend the majority of your time (75%+) working hands-on inside Claude and other LLMs to explore data, prototype workflows, and build proofs of concept
- Act as a technical, customer-facing resource — similar to a solutions architect or sales engineer — supporting pre-sales conversations and client demonstrations
- Dig into the company's data (expert call transcripts, public-facing data, and more) to surface trends and insights using AI-assisted analysis
- Build innovative, customer-specific solutions and demos rather than scalable product features (that's the core engineering team's focus)
- Collaborate with the engineering and data science team as needed, staying loosely familiar with the underlying data pipelines and tooling
- Bring a market/investing lens to the work, helping ensure outputs are relevant and credible to financial services clients
- Help define and shape this role and the broader Lab team's ways of working as the function matures
Qualifications
- Genuine interest in financial markets, investing, or institutional research
- Background in computer science, data science, or a related technical field
- Very proficient and comfortable working inside Claude (or comparable LLMs) as a daily working tool, not just an occasional aid
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients in a technical-sales or solutions-oriented capacity
- Comfortable operating in an evolving, not-yet-fully-defined role with significant ownership
- Ability to think creatively about custom, one-off solutions for individual customers rather than standardized product features
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Python and data analysis tooling (e.g., Pandas), to collaborate more closely with the data science/engineering team
- Prior experience in a sales engineer, solutions architect, or technical pre-sales role
- Background in financial services, expert networks, or market research
- Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code or similar) to build or prototype quickly
